I’d Rather Die Than Obey
Discover the God whose mercy pursues reluctant hearts through this Bible study on Jonah.
Ever felt God asking you to do something that shook you to your core? Not just scary, but something that felt — way down deep — like maybe it was just too much?
You’re not alone.
In I’d Rather Die Than Obey, we walk with Jonah (and each other) through the hard, holy work of learning to trust God even when it hurts. This women’s Bible study invites you to wrestle honestly, rest deeply, and ultimately obey boldly. Not because it’s easy, but because God can be trusted — always.
“If we hurry past Jonah, …we miss a foreshadowing of a promise from God so amazing it will take eternity to fully unfold.”
Why I wrote this Bible study on Jonah
Hi, I’m Dawn. I wrote this study from the middle of my own struggle with obedience, when God invited me to walk a path I wasn’t sure I wanted to take. Jonah’s story reminds me that when we run, God runs after us. His mercy meets us in the mess and welcomes us when we return to him.

What people are saying about this Bible study
“…an easy read, yet a profoundly personal study at the same time, weaving together Gospel wisdom appropriate for new believers as well as thought-provoking questions for experienced students of the Word. Throughout the study, I was reminded to turn away from worrying so much about me and turn to God with wholehearted devotion and complete trust… I highly recommend the book as both an individual read and as a group study…” — Shannon
“A gem of a book… This book will be added to my collection of “keepers” for sure!! From the author’s easy-to-read writing style to the delivery of the valuable message this book holds, I looked forward to seeing that next ‘thought-provoking lesson’ would be on the pages ahead. The small book of Jonah has many valuable lessons, and this author has shared them with a Christ-like love that reflects her heart…” — Sal
“Great for a group Bible study: So much to learn from this short book of Jonah. It brings to light points that are easy to overlook in what is a pretty familiar story. Taking a ‘deep dive,’ I was able to apply the principles and lessons of Jonah and be encouraged. I have used this for an online group Bible study with excellent reviews. If you are looking for a next Bible study topic, I recommend using this one.” — Beth
